About South Coast Embroidery
South Coast Embroidery provides embroidery and clothing printing for workwear, uniforms and branded garments. Based in Dorset, all decoration is produced in-house, allowing us to maintain consistent results across orders and repeat runs.
We work with businesses, teams and organisations across a range of sectors, supplying garments intended for regular wear and washing rather than one-off promotional use.
What We Do
Our work typically involves applying logos and designs to garments using embroidery or print, depending on the intended use of the clothing.
Embroidery is commonly used for workwear, uniforms and garments where durability is important. Clothing printing is often better suited to larger designs, promotional garments or events. In many cases, a combination of both methods is used on the same garment.
How we work
Once artwork is approved, garments are prepared and decorated in our Dorset workshop before being checked and packed for delivery. Producing everything in-house allows us to maintain quality and consistency throughout the process.
Where helpful, we can advise on garment selection, decoration method, logo size and positioning to ensure the finished result is suited to its intended use.
Our Approach
We aim to make ordering branded clothing clear and straightforward. This includes providing realistic lead times, practical recommendations and clear communication throughout each stage of an order.
Many customers return for repeat orders because the results remain consistent and the process is easy to manage, particularly when supplying clothing across teams or locations.
Our approach to sustainability is outlined in more detail on our Sustainability page.
People behind the business
South Coast Embroidery is run by Kyle and Alexandra, who are involved in the day-to-day running of the business. This hands-on approach means orders are overseen from start to finish and enquiries are handled directly.
Kyle Stoneham
Kyle entered the print and embroidery industry in 2007, launching and growing a business on the UK’s East Coast before selling it in 2017.
After this, he spent several years competitively sailing and working on high-performance boat projects, developing a strong focus on precision, problem-solving and consistency. This experience, combined with a long-standing connection to the water, led to his family relocating to the Isle of Portland on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast.
Many of the skills developed through these projects carry directly into day-to-day production work, influencing the way South Coast Embroidery approaches quality, detail and process.
Alexandra Stoneham
Alexandra has over 18 years’ experience working as a communications consultant alongside multinational corporate organisations. She joined South Coast Embroidery in 2024, bringing a background rooted in structured planning, clear communication and the coordination of large-scale projects.
Her experience supports the early stages of an order, helping to turn new enquiries into clear, production-ready briefs, confirming requirements, advising on options where needed, and ensuring the right information is in place before work begins.
