What Determines the Price of T-Shirt Printing? The three factors you need to consider

If you’re reading this you’ve probably started thinking about personalised t-shirts for your business, organisation or event and are setting a budget.

Three main factors contribute towards the price of printed t-shirts:

1.  Quality of the blank T-shirt
2. Number of print positions
3. Total number of shirts needed

1. Quality of the blank T-shirt:

Not all t-shirts are created equal and while we use the same print methods on all shirts the blank product we start with will vary. Budget t-shirts are lighter weight material with single stitched seams and a unisex cut. Budget shirts are good for giveaways but not well suited for work wear. A durable premium t-shirt with twin stitched seams and smoother fabric will prove better value.

2. Number of print positions:

It’s cheapest to have one printed logo on the left breast but depending on how the t-shirt will be used you may be missing valuable exposure for your brand. E.g., a Barista in a coffee shop may spend time facing away from their customers so a back design mentioning a loyalty scheme/new cake flavour may result in increased customer spend.

Event sponsorship activation is often overlooked, if your event has received support from multiple businesses then a print on the back of the competitor shirt that includes all the sponsor logos will add exposure and improve their ROI, not just on the day but for the lifetime of the t-shirt.

3. Total number of shirts needed:

The more personalised t-shirts you order, the cheaper they become (economies of scale). As the production run increases so does our efficiency and we pass that on to you. We offer increasing bulk discounts from 8 units to 100+.

FAQS (frequently asked questions)

Does it cost more to have a multicolour print?
No, we charge the same price for single colour up to a full colour print so no need to compromise on your design.

How much is the screen or set up charge?
We don’t charge for design origination so the only cost you pay is for the t-shirt which will include all printing costs.

Artwork quality needed?
The end result will always look best using a vector file with colours saved in CMYK as an .eps or hi-res PDF. A good test is to zoom in on the image and it should stay clear without pixelating.

How quickly will my order be ready?
Standard lead time is 5 working days (1 week) from your approval of the order, we also offer a 72HR express service at checkout on orders of up to 50 units if you’re tight on time!
